This film, in 18 minutes, makes you feel more emotion in a short amount of time than any feature length movie has ever accomplished in the 2 hours it's given. The horror the family goes through is so intense you feel it in your soul; from the fathers grief, of losing his loved ones in front of him, not being able to protect them, to the child's untimely, shocking doom to the mother's grief of abandoning her child due to instinct and to the immediate choice to attempt to recover such a loss, knowing the wrong that was done and how life could not go on without her, by committing a heart wrenching self sacrifice. David's acting, subtle yet powerful, made me cry an ugly cry alongside him. It was difficult to watch from start to finish because the experience was so palpable. You felt alone and hopeless. The ending, luckily, provided a bit of a bandaid for the pain with an unexpected, not cheesy, action by a rideshare child. It made you question faith, coincidence and mere childlike insight. This was well written and well performed. Worthy of it's Oscar Nomination.
After losing a family member to a violent crime, a shattered ride-share driver picks up a passenger who forces him to confront his grief.
